Rosenthal Mid Century Classic Modern All White Platter 13 1/2" Raymond Loewy
Up for bid is a mid century modern porcelain platter made by Rosenthal. Designed by Raymond Loewy it is from the dinnerware line called Classic Modern White (on shape 2000).  This is plain all-white with no trim color, and is striking in its simplicity of design.
The underside is marked with the green crown back stamp that reads: Rosenthal GERMANY.
Piece measures approx 13 1/2" across/long and is approx 9 1/2" wide.  It weighs over 2 lbs by itself; shipping cost is based on package weight of over 3 lbs to allow for careful wrapping.
Condition: It is without chips, cracks, nicks or dings.  There is just a trace amount of surface wear (only a few light utensil marks that one has to look closely to see). However I did notice a little mark (a scrape line) below the green back stamp. I think this is an intentional mark to indicate this platter may be a Second. When holding it in the air at eye level there is a slight warp that would have occurred before firing. I do not find it at all distracting and think it would NOT be noticed at all when in use.
Should still be a very nice find for collectors in need of additions or replacements!
SHIPPING INSIDE US: We do not charge a fixed rate for shipping. We base our shipping costs on the actual weight of the item. It is a "calculated" cost based on USPS postal zones. The more zones/further away you are from MD the greater the cost. This means to ship to California and other west coast states costs MORE than to ship to nearby neighboring states such as PA, NJ, VA etc. We will combine shipping on multiple purchases. If package turns out a little bit lighter that expected, and shipping is less than calculator estimate, this difference was not intentional. We do not charge a handling fee.

PAYMENT DETAILS: Payment is requested within three (3) business days. We accept PayPal and normally mail item immediately (same day/next day depending on when payment is received). PLEASE NOTE: If you pay within 12 hours of the auction's close we will be able to achieve the 1 day handling promise. If you pay later, we sometimes have other obligations making it difficult to mail immediately. In those cases please rest assured we will have your package in mail as soon as physically possible.
